Hidden Lake Retrievers is a full service kennel offering boarding, hunt test and gun dog training, and guided waterfowl hunts. Our facilities are conveniently located about 70 miles north of Houston and 35 minutes south of College Station in Anderson, TX. Hidden Lake Retrievers has access to over 6,000 acres of local training grounds.  We have several different training programs available and we can help you assess your personal needs and expectations of your dog in order to reach their maximum capability. We strive to assist clients in reaching their goal of owning an awesome hunting companion, field competitor, or just a well behaved member of the family.  Kirk Wichman had his first dog trained in 1994. From that moment on he was interested in the art of training dogs. In 1999 he went to work for Pat McHale, a hunt test/gun dog trainer and worked with him for four years. In 2002, he left Ridgewood Kennels and went to work for Danny Farmer, one of the most successful Field Trial trainers of all time. Kirk worked with Danny and began leasing space starting his own training kennel at Vinwood Kennels.

	In 2004, Kirk realized he thoroughly enjoyed professionally training retrievers and built what is now home of Hidden Lake Retrievers, LLC. To date, Kirk has over 160 AKC Hunt Test titles to his credit, 25 of those being Master Hunters, and numerous Master National Qualifiers each year. He has been guiding duck hunts for 12 years and been the head guide at Moody Ranch Outfitters for six years.
